The Altar Support Center offers care for the intellectual and developmentally disabled population. To enhance and inspire the lives of our clients, we provide them with amenities, programs and cultural events, right onsite, that light up every day. We are centrally located in the greater Kansas City, Metropolitan area, and provide a home like feel for increased reintegration. It shifts away from the use of institutional and nursing facility care toward more individualized community residential and personal support services.We are accepting clients of all ages.We are a state licensed agency.
A the Altar Support Center, our clients will participate in developmentally-appropriate activities throughout the day, such as:
- Trips to the local parks, zoo, YMCA, library & museum. We also have arts and crafts such as bead making, cooking classes, pottery design, and computer time just to name a few. They also can participate in activities outside of our facility such as church, or holding a job.
- The staff will help support clients while the client prepares three fresh meals a day.
- Staff will help support clients with laundry services, as we navigate toward independence.
- Staff will help support clients with trash removal.
- All basic utilities
- Scheduled transportation
- We will have trained professionals to oversee our clients as needed per their person’s centered care plan
